1. What This Reference Is
Berkeley Residents Directory is privately operated. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections concerning Berkeley and California. Government records are not hosted here, and the reference is not affiliated with the City of Berkeley, Alameda County, a California agency, a court, or a records custodian.
2. Lawful Use Rules
Use this reference only in a lawful and respectful way. You may not use it, or a result reached through it, to:

Nothing on these pages, and no result from a linked tool, is a consumer report. 4. Outside Services
Government portals and third-party providers, including sponsored search tools, operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Berkeley Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, prices, or data practices.
5. No Warranties
The reference is supplied “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. No promise is made that a page is accurate, complete, current, or free of errors, or that an outside portal will work or return a correct result.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of this site or an outside resource, including action taken from a record found through it.
7. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold the site operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that results from misuse of the reference or violation of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The site’s original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a brief attributed excerpt is welcome. Republishing a full page or copying the content systematically is not.
9. Changes to These Terms
A revised version may be posted here from time to time. Continued use after the revised terms appear means that the revision is accepted.
10. Restricting Access
Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms or abuses the site. This may happen at the operators’ discretion and without advance notice.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. References to public-record access point to the California Public Records Act, Government Code section 7920.000 and following. California privacy rights may also arise under the Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code section 1798.100 and following.
12. Severability
If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
